Thinking of Switching to Marriott…

I’ve exclusively stuck to Hilton properties for the past 10+ years. I enjoy building Hilton points and using them for leisure travel. Used to travel a lot for work (no longer do), but now typically build majority of Hilton points through credit card spend (approx $10k/mo).

I’m about to deplete my Hilton points on a trip and considering making the switch to a Marriott card, but only because I perceive with a Brilliant/Bevy card, you earn more points on the dollar. Am I wrong? Would also like to try Marriott properties but fine staying with Hilton if I earn points faster with their credit cards.

More info: Have the surpass card but considering upgrading to Aspire for the 175K points promo. Spend about $10/mo on my current surpass.
