Race call at Indy 500 (first timer)

Attending my first 500 after many years of watching on television. I’m concerned about not being able to follow the race if I am not near a screen.

Any advice on race call? Can I listen with noise cancelling headphones on my iPhone? Should I rent a scanner? If so can I do that ahead of time or only at the speedway? I’d rather not stand in line before or after the race with equipment.

Any help appreciated!
