PGWP Reapplication

I recently got my study permit extension approved, even though I had already applied for a PGWP. Has anyone been in a similar situation and reapplied for a PGWP after their study permit extension was approved? Did you need to withdraw your initial PGWP application, and if so, how long did the withdrawal process take? were you able to get your work authorization document after reapplying for the PGWP?
