Carrier Pressure

Is anyone else feeling stuck between a rock and a hard place with renewals? Lately, I’ve been getting a lot of pressure from the carrier I work for to take intense rate or raise deductibles on accounts. But then, when the account shops around and the agent is upset, I’m still expected to retain the renewal. It’s frustrating because it feels like I’m the bad guy to everyone always (pushing my carrier to give back in the renewal and pushing my broker to bind the tougher renewal). I’m curious if others are experiencing the same thing at their carriers or if maybe a change would help me.

I’m a commercial UW in the US at a large carrier, but I won’t be getting more specific than that in the post. Happy to elaborate more in messages.
