Vienna to Italy nightjet

My original plan is to go from Vienna to Rome via nightjet on November midweek. Unfortunately, booking/reservations for the couchettes and cabins are still not available or not opened due to the ongoing maintenance.

So I was thinking of doing the Vienna to Venice night train, then spend a few hours or maybe spend the night in Venice for more sightseeing. Then take a Frecciarossa to Rome.

However, when I was checking the nightjet site, it shows that “there are no direct night train connections the selected route” as in the photo although I can still reserve. Does that mean that somewhere in this route we are going to take a transfer, and that this train is not direct?

Also, in case I will take this route, does the nightjet arrive ontime or at worst a few minutes late? Will it be safe to book the another train 2 hours after the ETA? Thank you!
