First time in Japan. Getting to Nikko from Asakusa

Just arrived in Japan yesterday. Since I have a 3 days to myself before meeting up with others, I figured I should look up a few things to do that are bit out of the way (day trip wise) and unique to the season. Nikko seemed perfect. But looking up the logistics of getting there (yes, i did google and youtube around), it didn't seem that straightforward. Most guides skip over the logistics (Different passes, trains, buses)

Getting overwhelmed a bit. A bit clueless. I dont speak any Japanese so I want to figure this out before heading out. If anyone can help break it down for me I would appreciate it

Getting to Nikko from Asakusa

I want to take the limited express trains. Spacia X seems ideal. Do I still need to purchase "base fare' ticket ahead of time? Or I can just swipe into the asakusa station with the Suica card then just present the express train ticket? Do I have to get the limited express ticket in person at Asakusa? Or there's a digital version

Getting on the buses at Nikko

Where do you purchase it? Seems like I cannot get the heritage pass (sold out). Can i pay with the Suica card? Or do i need to purchase the bus tickets in advance somewhere or pay with cash/coin?

Passes or advance reservation needed at Nikko

Just doing the day trip 6-8 hours there. Will visit the temples, bridge, scroll around the town. Is there enough time to go visit the more scenic spots?Lake Chuzenjiko or scenic hikes that are must-do's for the foliage season? Any passes or reservations needed?
