Jeep Avenger - Disable Proximity-Based Auto Locking?
Hi there. Recently purchased a Jeep Avenger and love pretty much everything about it, apart from one incredibly annoying 'feature' - the proximity-based auto locking function that locks the car when the key moves more than a couple meters away from the vehicle.
While it is at times convenient (full hands & leaving the car etc), most of the time it's just a giant P.I.T.A, especially since the alarm function comes on once the vehicle locks.
Want to leave the car unlocked in your garage so you can put stuff in and out of it without constantly carrying the key? Nope.
Family in the car and you jump out for a couple mins with the key in your pocket to go into a gas station, hardware store, etc? Car locks, alarm activates, family gets blasted.
Walk away from the car before your partner gets a chance to hop out? She's locked in.
I understand some people might like it but the fact there is no default menu option to remove the function is just mindblowing. Is there any way to code it out etc via an OBD or similar like I can with unwanted features in other cars I've owned?
