No one understands Cursed Energy Output

Gonna give my two cents on this topic and we can have a Shinjuku showdown in the comments:

Cursed Energy Reserves is the maximum amount of cursed energy a sorcerer/curse has to utilize. When characters in JJK glaze Sukuna and Yuta about how much cursed energy they possess, they are referring to their cursed energy reserves.

Cursed Energy Output is the amount of cursed energy a sorcerer/curse can use in one instance of jujutsu. Cursed Energy Output is typically represented in a percentage, and from my interpretation, this percentage is in reference to the users Cursed Energy Reserves.

How do I figure this? Because of maximum techniques and maximum output techniques. Maximum output techniques are techniques that use a sorceror/curses highest possible output percentage to produce the technique. Maximum techniques are similar, but they REQUIRE the user’s maximum possible output to be preformed. For example, Angel can use Jacob’s ladder at any percentage output, but Jogo MUST use his maximum output to produce Maximum Meteor. And maximum does not mean 100% it just means the highest that user can produce.

How does this play out? Let’s say Ryu has a max cursed energy reserve of 10 units. Ryu has the highest recorded output in history so let’s say his output is 100%. That means he can output all 10 units of his CE reserves in one attack. Now let’s take Yuta. Yuta has a ridiculous amount of cursed energy, so let’s say his max cursed energy reserves are 25 units. But Yuta can only output 40% of his cursed energy in any given attack. That would mean Yuta can also output 10 units of cursed energy in one attack, even though he has lower output than Ryu. This makes sense, as we see Ryu’s granite blast basically match Yuta’s pure love beam.

Remember that cursed energy reserves and output can be charged up by harnessing more negative emotions and use of hand signs and incantations AND binding vows. Both Sukuna’s reserves and output were lowered in the Shinjuku showdown, but he compensated by using hand signs and binding vows for his more powerful techniques (world slash, one handed domain). This is why a sorcerer can use a maximum technique or max output technique and keep fighting. They do have to take a second to charge back up though.
