Which is better

A) Leave your purchased sword in oil and plastic wrap?

B) Remove the wrap, wipe down the blade, and monthly reapply the oil?

Backstory: Finally found an "authentic hamon" for tanto, wakizashi and katana, and the dealer wrapped them with plastic filled with oil. I've already removed all wrapping on the tanto, but unsure if I should do the same for the next two. My plan is to monthly re-apply oil, keep all three inside sheath, sheath inside plastic, and plastic inside cloth bag.
