Hyper-Independence or Just Who I Am?
Growing up, I had only my grandma and God. She’s the one who raised me, and from an early age, I learned to rely on myself for everything. I never really had the luxury of depending on people, and honestly, I don’t think it’s a bad thing.
These days, I see a lot of talk about "hyper-independence" being a trauma response. But for me, it’s not about fear or past wounds—it’s just how I operate. If something needs to be done, I do it. I trust myself first before anyone else.
Is hyper-independence always a bad thing? Or is it sometimes just part of who we are? Curious to hear different perspectives.
