Potential ev6 owner but hesitant because of battery/ICCU issue. Should I be?

Just wanted to see people's thoughts on this - have a pretty good deal ready to go but as I research more, this seems to be something that affects most of the ev6's at some point. Don't want to be stranded somewhere with a dead battery, don't want to have to take into the dealer constantly to have it updates or fixed. Does anyone regret their purchase over this issue?
