Need some help pricing my jobs.
I have had previous experience in a yard work business. I’ve only been doing this for a few months but have learned a lot. I know how to hand weed properly, prune, weed whack ect. I got some leads from people in the area to do their yards to clean the weeds out. I have been driving myself crazy on what to charge and I feel I’m not making enough money for the quality work I do. I only do residential lawns. I’m not a licensed business or anything but want more money for my work.
I’ve been charging $16 an hour. I have my tools I borrowed from my grandparents and the jobs are an 8 min radius away.
NOTE: I’m a one person doing all of this.
Should I just tell them my hourly or flat rate?
Does the area I’m in (neighbourhood) affect the price?
If I am hand pulling weeds how much should I charge an hour if someone is requesting to clean that up?
If I have smaller sections and tools to make the job faster, do I decrease my price an hour since it’s faster or leave it as is?
Do I add a separate rate price for travel?
This took me 5.5 hours to do for this section and my back was giving out. I want to tell the lady I would need to increase my hourly rate or give her a flat rate for Its a bigger job. Not sure if its a good idea to tell her tho?
