I prefer the Q line over the M
I know this might be an unpopular opinion, but I genuinely prefer the Q line over the M line for several reasons. I own both a Q2 Monochrom, Q3, and an M10-P, and for me, the Q3 is the ultimate camera.
I’ve never been someone who enjoys swapping out tons of lenses. As a flight attendant, I travel frequently, and having a compact, all-in-one camera with an incredible lens is ideal. Being based in the PNW, the Q3’s weather sealing is a huge plus, it’s a lifesaver in Seattle’s constant drizzle.
While the M line is undoubtedly “fun” to shoot, it just doesn’t match the Q3 for quick street photography, where speed and simplicity are key. I also feel the M line is overpriced for what it offers, especially when you compare it to the Q line. With the Q, you’re essentially paying Leica money for the lens and getting an incredible body as a bonus.
On top of that, the M series only recently made it easier to swap batteries quickly. The old bottom plate system is just not practical compared to the straightforward design of the Q series.
The only thing I’m wishing the Q3 had is internal storage. It makes no sense why they didn’t add it.
