Having problems with Persona 5 Royal (steam) any idea how or what is causing it?

Hi, I recently got Persona 5 Royal from the Steam Winter Sale, and when I started playing it, I noticed that in extremely crowded areas, my FPS would tank. I came across a thread that suggested using d3d11 and dxvk to convert the DirectX API calls to Vulkan, and that solved my issue. I was able to game normally and am now 10 hours into the game, just about to start the second palace.

However, I’ve started encountering another issue. Whenever I’m in battle and use a Persona, my game completely freezes, and it takes minutes to complete the action. Even once it finishes, when we reach the "Hold Up" phase in battle, the game completely freezes again, making it practically unplayable.

I’ve tried everything I can think of—updating my drivers, verifying game files, disabling the Steam overlay—but nothing has fixed it. My specs are a 4th-gen i5, 8 GB of RAM, and an RX 570. I know the hardware is old, but the game ran properly and had no issues before, so this doesn’t make sense I've also had harder to run games run fine on my pc before so idk what is wrong right now.

Additionally, I’ve noticed that whenever I use a Persona in game, my CPU usage spikes to 100%. If I alt-tab out of the game, the CPU usage goes back to normal. I’ve confirmed that the game is using my discrete GPU (not the iGPU), so I’m not sure what else to do.

One more thing to mention: all of this started happening after I upgraded from Windows 10 to Windows 11, so I suspect that might be the issue, but I’m not sure what specifically or how to fix it.

Thanks for reading all this—I really appreciate any help I can get!
