WEATHER UPDATE || Friday, July 26th || 6 DAYS TO LOLLA

Hey! I am a regular over at the r/aclfestival subreddit for weather updates, and as this is the first year that I am also attending Lolla, I thought that I would make the weather updates on the fest

Disclaimer - I am not a meteorologist, just a hobbyist that has been following and been interested in weather for 10 years now. None of this should be taken as gospel, because anyone from Texas will tell you weather will change at the drop of a hat.

This will be more of a general breakdown on what to possibly expect at Grant Park for next week. More detailed reports will come out as we get closer to the fest :)

OVERVIEW

In general, it is going to be a beautiful weekened. There is a slight chance of some afternoon showers because of daytime heating and the moisture coming off the lake, but in general we are looking at a great weekend. As of right now, it looks like temperatures will be above average for Chicago.

6-10 Day Temperature Probability

Because of the above normal heating that will be happening, it just adds in more ingredients for the possibility of afternoon showers. For now, it only really looks like it will hover above a 30-40% chance in the afternoon, and then as the sun goes down and the temperature starts to fall, it kills the chance of rain. The only evening currently that has a chance of rain is Thursday, with a chance of 40% that falls off at midnight.

Thursday - High of 84, Low of 71, Chance of Rain 40%

Friday - High of 84, Low of 71, 30% Chance of Rain in the Afternoon

Saturday - High of 83, Low of 69, 30% Chance of Rain in the Afternoon

Sunday - High of 82, Low of 68, 20% Chance of Rain

We will have a better understanding of what the weather will look like as the Surface Pressure maps are released, and there is a chance of the possibility that a upper level high that is predicted to be over Lake Michigan could shift southwest and sit over Chicago, which will lower rain chances.
