The dust is almost unbearable

This was my first lost lands and just wondering if the dust is always that bad or just because of the drought? Been to electric forest multiple times which is pretty dusty at times but only in certain spots. As soon as i entered the fest from the campgrounds i could feel myself struggling to breathe. Also why is the entire wompy woods just rocks and dirt??? You shouldn’t have to cover your mouth and eyes the entire time at a music festival
