SSD keeps spamming my notifications with "Disk Not Ejected Properly" when screen is closed
I have a MacBook Pro M3 Pro with a Sabrent 2TB velcro'ed to the back with a short thunderbolt 3 cable plugged into the right thunderbolt port so that I can do editing work straight from there. (The internal SSD is too small) While I use it, there are no issues, and it never disconnects. However, I've found that every time step away and wake up the computer from sleep, I will have anywhere between 10-100 of these "Disk Not Ejected Properly. Eject 'SSD' before disconnecting or turning it off." notifications.
Initially, I thought it was because I put it in my bag and somehow the USB cable gets bumped around and it keeps connecting and disconnecting. However, I've found that these notifications happen even when it's on my desk overnight and untouched. I don't think it's an issue with the Thunderbolt 3 cable, since I can move it around and there are no issues. It's also 90º so it runs along the edge of the MacBook, and is harder to put pressure on/break with putting it in a bag.
Anyone have any clues on what is happening and how I can prevent this from happening? If the SSD is really disconnecting and reconnecting this many times, I fear that I would damage or lose data on there. Additionally, I wish there was a "Clear All" button, as I need to swipe away or X away each one individually.
