Dynamic Storyline
2 years into my first Madden 25 franchise, rebuilding the Raiders…and some of these dynamic storylines are absolutely insane. I need to rant about this lol.
Example 1: Sideline reporter asks what position my team is best at in the beginning of the regular season. I select “DL”, and long story short, it turns out that now my season goal is to hold opponents to 75 rush yards or less per game. 75?!?!? Insane ask. For comparison, Chicago finished #1 IRL last year, only giving up 86 rush ypg. In any case, I finish NUMBER 1 IN THE LEAGUE in rush defense, only giving up 81 rush ypg, and because I didn’t hit the 75 mark…my entire team loses morale.
Example 2: Around week 8 of that same season, Davante Adams asks for 8 receptions and 2 rushing attempts in our game that week. I normally sim quite a bit, so I said fine, I’ll play this week’s game so that I can make sure it gets done. He finishes with 10 receptions and 3 rushing attempts. Once I get back to the franchise menu, he thanks me for coming through for him and then PROCEEDS TO TELL ME THAT HES NOT SATISFIED AND WANTS 100+ RECEPTIONS AND 20 RUSH ATTEMPTS BY END OF SEASON. Cool, dude. Not only that, but he gets no training/morale/trust boost for me completing that week’s goal.
I know this seems like a salty post, but I’m more over just genuinely perplexed at some of the decision making here for these storylines. My most recent one is now asking me to draft a player 85+ in rounds 1-3. I don’t even know if that’s fucking possible? I’ve been playing Madden for decades and the highest rated rookie I’ve EVER drafted is like an 81? Maybe 82? Absolutely insane. I want to like this storyline system so badly, and there are some storylines they’ve implemented that are okay, but jfc are there an incredible amount of storylines that just flat out make asinine requests.
