Mauser Insight

This gun was passed down to me, belonging to my great-grandfather who served in WW2 drafted in 1942. I was never really given a story behind it. Is it possible he acquired this from the war? Cannot tell date of manufacture.

Also has a Clemen & Jung Bayonet, Have some Mauser 8mm and another type of ammo i can't identify.

Also any insight on the sword, it came with it and there are no markings.
