Lubing with alternate things?

Im new to keyboard and recently bought a durgod k320 with mx red and wanted to get a bit smoother of a click but didnt have any lube, so i tried lubing the wasd switches and space/shifts with 3in1 oil it feels good but its harder to press down now, is that because i used too much or is it the oil itself. and if i used too much how would i remove some if its possible :o, ty in advance :3
