Bizarre choice by SM...I think
I've been pursuing the posts and everyone has significantly lower hours. I've gleaned that this time of year is slow; a way to justify hours decrease i guess.
I am a new hire. Why would my SM make a job listing post on Michaels for a new hire at all, after seasonal. One co-worker told me she was seasonal and she thinks they are wondering how to give her hours. I personally was shocked when I saw my schedule, just two or three days a week, not what I was expecting.
If hours are spread thin, why on earth did she hire me? At least she took the posting down after hiring me.
Also, I see the next town over has a Michaels that is also hiring. I was going to apply- it's basically so competitive in my area for retail jobs, I couldn't find ANY besides Michaels and that's because they don't post on Indeed or anything, just the website and you have to type in specific stuff to find out they are. I was one of maybe just one applicant, and I was told with my persistence of calling, that is how I clinched the job. Anyway, that is why I'd consider another Michaels but from what I'm seeing in posts, all hours are down. Probably wouldn't be much different Again, this other city posted needing a new part-time hire 10 days ago. When it's slow and cutting other employee hours. Why???
