There are no cats in my world?

I am trying to find some cats to tame and everything from google says villages should be full of them. I am now traveling to my 5th different village and so far no cats.

I don't have any mods so I am assuming its a bug but did I hit the "No Cats" button in the settings? Am I doing something that scares them away before I see them?
