Pain

I'm 19 (trans guy). I've never had an iud before or anything. I have really bad period pains- as a point of reference, I've had pleurisy before and as bad as that was, it's nothing compared to the cramps i get sometimes. I was recommended the mirena to help with the pain and just had it inserted. It was obviously very unpleasant initially, but the after pain was horrible. I wasn't told to take any painkillers beforehand, so I didn't. Also I can't take ibuprofen or other anti inflammatory drugs as it thins my blood significantly. I was told it would hurt a bit, mild to moderate cramps after insertion. But after I ubered home, tbe pain just got worse and worse. Its horrifying honestly, not like cramps really as I at least get those in waves so have time to partially recover. This is just constant. I just wish they were honest about how bad it would be because I am not prepared in the slightest. I have plans all week, that I can't just cancel, including my best friend's mum's funeral. Has anyone got any advice on how to deal with the pain? Thanks x
