If you were an NFL gm, which draft picks would’ve costed you your job?
Ameer Abdullah - Originally a mid 2nd round pick for the Lions, I would’ve made this guy the first RB off the board of I were an NFL gm. 2 straight 1600+ yard seasons, a decent pass catcher who averaged 9.5 yards per catch over his collegiate career, and a good return man. He left Nebraska with over 7k all purpose yards, and I thought he was gonna be the next big thing in the NFL. He’s now 31 years old and hasn’t rushed for more than 500 yards since 2017 and is now more of a return specialist.
Bucky Hodges - A former dual threat QB who stood 6’6” and weighed 260 pounds, I thought his size, athleticism, and QB background would’ve made him an exceptional red zone/goal line threat at the next level. He finished his college career with 133 catches for 1747 yards and 20 touchdowns. I would’ve made this guy a 2nd or 3rd round pick. He ended up being drafted in the 6th round and bounced around practice squads for a couple years before playing for a season in Canada.
