Sooo.... this may be obvious to everyone else, buuut, I don't think I ever actually FULLY realized how much of a jump up in potency KCM2 is from KCM1.....
I admit, this is due to my fogginess of the modes respectively, what distinguishing characteristics or features seperates them, and how it denotes the correct assigning of the tier/term for them respectively. So I remember now [like I knew all along] like everyone else (and have been refreshed) that the Naruto that sensed Kisame hiding in Samehada on Bee's back, after meeting Kushina and defeating the Nine Tails in battle is KCM1. Naruto that outsped full power/speed Ay4= KCM1, who split up with many clones all over the battlefield and took out Kage level opponents as clone copies, such as Lord 3rd Ay (my favorite feat of early War Arc Naruto), which is honestly nuts in itself. Now fast forward to later in the War Arc, approximately 80-90 episodes later, when we see Naruto finally reap the benefits of befriending and caring deeply for Kurama and Kurama recognizing his resolve by attempting to save/free Son Goku from WM Obito's captivity. And now, this may be a bumpy ride for some, but Im going here, so fasten up. I have to disagree with everyone that uses side-by-side coordinated attacks and fighting panels to present the premise that EMS Sasuke scales to KCM2 Naruto in a lock-step fashion as they both gain strength, and experience with their respective power-ups they receive, ironically enough pretty much at the same time, as the War progresses. I'll start with what I've already seen everybody saying, because it's low hanging fruit, so I'll get it out of the way now- Sasuke was visibly angry and shook at how much chakra of Kurama's that Naruto was able to comfortably wield and disperse throughout the ENTIRE shinobi alliance army and still keep fighting and maintaining KCM2 afterwards. Naruto was not pulling off crap like this in KCM1. Sasuke had all but assumed he'd 100% caught up to Naruto, until that feat seperated them and elucidated just what level Naruto had reached. I understand, EMS is a considerable jump from regular MS, as it seemingly lowers the chakra cost of each MS ability, also seems to increase the user's chakra pool for visual prowess in general somehow, and most importantly removes MS's biggest drawback, being blindness[and also somehow gave Sasuke a speed boost?] I really like EMS as a power-up overall. But there's something I'm not sure people remember or realize, and that's that Naruto not only was unable to go into Sage Mode while in KCM1 mode thanks to Kurama's unwillingness to let him infuse nature energy[if my memory is any good here], but that in KCM2, Naruto is now able to infuse chakra for Sage Mode... wait, what's that? Actually that's incorrect? Oh yeah, actually Kurama doesn't sit idle and let Naruto infuse chakra for SM, he HELPS him do it! At an alarmingly fast speed, might I add. EMS Sasuke gets WASHED if he has to engage in a death match with KCM2 Naruto, with all this in mind. Not to mention while inside the Kurama avatar, Naruto is steadily healing passively. Also, Naruto was unable to use the Tailed Beast Bomb in KCM1. He can in KCM2 though- isn't that something. Not only that, he can add Sage Mode chakra to that as well for a Sage Boosted Bijuu-Dama. Things like this are stark reminders that the only reason it's hard to realize fully just how powerful a character becomes when they unlock the full potential of an early series power that was granted to them in the inception, is that at that stage, they just so happen to be fighting someone else with an equally or more ludicrous number or level of power-up[s] or skills. I know I posted a mini book, and all this may SEEM easy to recognize being the series has BEEN over in retrospect, but the pacing of the show actually makes it hard to fully realize and encapsulate all of these things in real time as it's all happening as the consumer, because so much happens so fast, to so many different people. Enough simply can't be said for how big of a change in scale one singular jump in a tier of a power-up can occur.
