When can I hold your baby??

i’m so curious good responses to this question!

i’ve had a handful of friends who disappeared not long before i got pregnant and then never responded to me or were there for me at all through my pregnancy. it was so lonely and isolating to reach out with no response and hardly any care or questions or checking in post partum too!

all of a sudden they’re all reach out asking “when can i hold her!?” like…. where have you been? i wish i knew how to respond in a way that’s kind but also firm on how i feel? or maybe just a good way to say no. i want to keep the door open, but how are you going to ghost me and then come back to ask if you can hold my daughter!?
