Medical Care Cost Situation
I recently saw an Instagram post stating that someone who was in a car accident had to be airlifted to a hospital via helicopter. This ended up costing her $65,000 and her health insurance wouldn’t cover it. If I were put in this situation, and I was to:
1) either decline the helicopter ride (if I were conscious)
or
(2) not consent to the helicopter ride (if I were unconscious)
Would I still be on the hook for the bill if they ended up taking me to the hospital via helicopter without my permission in either case? American health insurance doesn’t make sense to me and was curious about this hypothetical situation. Hope it makes sense!
