do guys really give free stuff to girls they find attractive?

lately I keep being given free things and discounts when I go places. I got given a free drink about a week ago at a restaurant and then today I was given a discount when buying energy drinks at the gas station. I've noticed that they don't do it for my male friends that I'm with. do guys actually give free stuff to girls they think are cute? is that's what's going on? why are they giving me free/discounted stuff?

EDIT: to be clear, for the energy drinks, he asked me if I had a membership and I said no so he turned around the thing and typed something in and said he'd give me a discount and then proceeded to make my male friend pay the normal price
