Let's talk about bullying
During Monday night’s free mentoring Zoom session (Notary Stars), Ronnie the owner brought up the topic of bullying by other notaries. While it was discussed briefly, it was long enough to drive home the point: bullying has no place in our community.
This conversation reminded me of an experience I had on this very sub. I stood up to someone who tried to bully me over something ridiculous—because I didn’t recommend his services. Mind you, I’ve never met this person, never hired him, and never even had an encounter with him!
What triggered him? I referred people to others he didn’t get along with. He actually went as far as blocking me and then threatened to keep me blocked unless I removed a comment I had made on Reddit. Let's just say, I am still blocked! The audacity!
To anyone out there facing similar nonsense: don’t let anyone bully or intimidate you. Stand your ground. We all come from different walks of life and have different preferences for who we work with and recommend, and that’s okay.
SN: if you ever receive a negative thumbs down, it's because you didn't refer or recommend him and/or you recommended yourself.
