Apostille for a document signed in two different states
Hi All,
This is an interesting one. I've got a legal document that was signed twice: once in Tennessee and once in Ohio. Each signature was notarized in its respective state at the time of signing. The secretary of state's offices in each state have declined to affix an apostille to a document that was notarized in a different state, and the federal authentications office has recommended I just get two copies of the document separately signed instead of a single document with two signatures.
So that's what I'll do. But I'm wondering if anyone else has run into this kind of thing? It doesn't exactly seem like something super rare and I'm wondering if anyone else has managed to handle it.
