Advice on Job Offer

Hello! I’m a new grad (1 yr) in Miami, FL trying to decide what the wisest/smartest choice is.

1. Staying at my current job where I’ve been at for 1 year. Non-profit, pediatrics. Traveling between 2 locations (PPEC and outpatient clinic). Negotiated a raise to $65k.

Pros: non-profit qualifies for PLSF, paid holidays & other benefits, higher salary.

Cons: toxic work environment; schedule/traveling & not reimbursed for miles/tolls/travel time; productivity expected to be over 95%. I’m the only full time OT in the clinic and 1/2 at PPEC so majority of evaluations are assigned to me. Commute is over 1 hour to one location. Days end up being 7:30-6pm with travel (only paid for 40 hours weekly). No documentation time, so I often finish evals at home.

2. Private outpatient clinic. Offering $62,500* but with decent benefits that current job doesn’t offer: up to 1k in CEU courses, reimbursed for license renewal, opportunity to earn $2k/year bonus for keeping productivity over 75%.

Pros: seems to offer mentorship and is an interdisciplinary team (SLP, OT, music and yoga therapy, etc.); only working at 1 location. They have 2 clinics and other OTs so evals are distributed between both clinics. Offer documentation time. Productivity 75% or higher.

Cons: commute would be around 1.5 hours in AM and PM. Not eligible for PLSF. Lower base salary (* although with benefits they say it will end up being around ~68k).

Ideally I would move closer to eliminate the commute but current cost of living would leave me very tight with a $62k base salary in North Miami. Therefore, my plan is to continue living at home until I have more saved up. What would you do?

TYIA!!!!
