Help regarding black screen and glitching quest 2 controllers before I just give up and throw it in the pool? Hmm..maybe that'll fix it ... :I
Alright, I'll try to make this organized. A couple of months ago, the controllers started glitching and not connecting/vibrating, we gave up after a few tries and it's just been sitting.
A month ago, they decided to pair, he got one day maybe, of play on and off. THEN for the first time....black screen of death, volume sounds were there, power on and off, the boot up menu. I attempted a few times on and off reset by the app, the headset, etc each time, it went to black
Yesterday....while on meta quest help as a last resort, they walked me through absolutely everything I'd already tried and exhausted via reddit...meta quest etc. SOMEHOW while on the chat with them, when nothing else was working, they said something that made me think to take the face mask? And strap off...well holy crap there was the regular screen....everything paired...and was fine. I came across a reddit sub after that, where someone elses fix was just that easy! The sensor!
Ok, so we're back in business, he plays for an hour or so..."tracking lost"...controllers back to vibrating, blinking, and not pairing. Was done for the day, attempted a few different things today, back to a glitchy black screen, PLUS controllers vibrating and blinking, I've gotten the screen to stay on a bit for a factory reset/set up. But the controllers absolutely refuse to pair.
It's just like...seemingly unrelated issues....like the whole thing is just frying out. My brain is also fried, because none of it makes sense. Metasupport as of this afternoon tells me my warranty is out, and they can send me a new one for $160.
TLDR:
Would new controllers fix this?
Any magic fix that is blasted all over the internet already?
Do repair shops exist?
Should I throw it in the pool or burn it with fire for the feelings of aggravation it has given me?
TIA
