Are we crazy?

I am actually asking if I am crazy, but I suspect many of you will feel the panful symptoms of watch ownership and always looking for something better.

I own an Omega Seamaster from the year 2000 and I adore it. It has kept time to within 0.5 seconds per day over the past year, it is very thin and it is, to me, a perfect daily watch.

The problem is I am searching for something new to wear some of the time and of course I am only looking at Omega.

A Speedmasster keeps popping into my mind, but the reality is that when I tried one on in a boutique I was left cold by the experience. 50m water resistance, a scratchable crystal and the sense that it is not a 'do anything' watch does not appeal for such a huge amount of money. The one I would buy would not have gone to the moon and the manual wind aspect is also not something I personally want.

I wish I could say I understand the love for the Speedmaster, but aside from the NASA connection I genuinely cannot understand the appeal.

So, the Seamaster is the watch for me and I am considering the white dial which keeps coming back to me. It would be very different to my current older Seamaster, but I am wondering if the extra size would be an annoyance and more importantly, if I am really getting much more for the money.

A watch is a watch and if I was ultra practical I could just buy another G Shock, but I love Omega and like to feel that I am getting true quality and functionality for my money, which I guess means wearing it all of the time.

Watch people like us do not make decisions out of logic much of the time, but has anyone here bought a newer version of the same Omega and found a massive difference or been extremely happy with the move? Also, how much wrist time did your previous watch get? Thanks!
