procedure steps

We use onenote to keep a list of process steps updated, several users follow these steps and they change constantly so we need to follow carefully and make changes as we go.

Right now there isn't an easy way for us to keep our place in the list of steps as we follow through. Some of our users print it out (suboptimal since the steps change) and cross out steps as they do it

This seems like a common use case - anyone figure out a good way to do it? My current method is so lame I am afraid to say what it is!

My ideal solution would have the current step highlighted or a list of checkboxes that you tick off as you complete a step, then they all clear when you start the process again
