Lamentations has got me wondering….

So I have been on an Opeth live album binge the past few days and something stuck out to me about the Lamentations recording, all songs from this show are from Blackwater Park, Deliverance and Damnation. But what especially stood out to me was that they squeezed Harvest in after Ending Credits and before Weakness while playing Damnation in it’s entirety. And then for the second set, all songs are from Blackwater Park and Deliverance.

This had me thinking, it almost feels like Blackwater Park was a precursor companion disc to the double record of Deliverance/Damnation. If you think about it, Blackwater Park has a similar sound to Deliverance as well as similar lyrical themes and even album artwork colours. Of course we, or I, can speculate all I want but the point of this post was to see if anyone else noticed this or if there was any sort of interview with Mikael out there hinting at this?
