Spearmint pills caused early spotting?

Hi all,

I haven't been diagnosed with PCOS yet but I'm pretty sure I have it as I've been experiencing hirsutism, hair loss, and acne for that past couple of years. I have an appt with my doctor in about a month. I am on birth control (the pill) and my "periods" are pretty regular. I read that spearmint pills can help with lowering androgen levels so I started taking them for the past 3 days. Today, I realize I'm spotting almost a week and a half too early. Has this happened to anyone else?
