Skill Issue Help

Yes, I know this is a skill issue but by God it's pissing me off how many games I ALSO lose because I got RNG into having 0 bench mons.

I want to like this game, I really do. But it's so stupidly annoying losing so frequently on things I can't control. Even besides this Emblem event, I have NEVER won 2 games in a row. Partly because I suck, but partly also because of bs like rolling 0 bench mons.

How does one improve? Is this game even strategy or am I essentially at the mercy of my starting hand and or whatever card I happen to pull each turn (which, side note, happens to consistently not be the one I need to even attempt a comeback)
