Does an echo change if checking for structural issues?
I'm 35 and had an echo when I was like 5 lol. The last month I've had bad palpitations, probably like 3 a min at the worst of them, all day. I don't notice them when I'm busy. I also have health anxiety and go through phases of obsessing over certain diseases or issues. I cannot stop thinking about my palpitations but idk if it's bc they keep happening or bc I keep thinking about them. I count them, check my pulse, manipulate my breathing, do several kardia readings. They're disrupting my life bc I fear them so much. I can't even volunteer at my kids school bc I am so scared and get myself so worked up about them that then I basically have an anxiety attack while helping at their school. I'm 35 and otherwise healthy. I workout 5 days a week and am 115 lbs. I saw a cardiologist in 2020 and 2022 but never got an echo, only a holter monitor so in my mind the echo is like the missing piece and will diagnose some deadly issue. Would an echo at age 5 be sufficient? Should I trust that the EP didn't think one was even warranted?
