Question about maternity leave policy

Hi state employees,

I am contemplating taking the leap to state gov. I had a question about the maternity leave policy - it says you are able to have 8 weeks of paid parental leave after 12 months of service but are you also able to add any sick leave or annual leave to “extend” it? 8 weeks just doesn’t seem like a lot to me but understand it’s more than some other employers.
