1st time traveling to Paris! Q’s

My friend and I are traveling from Dulles, VA to Rome with a 3 hr 20 min layover in Paris via Airfrance. We then are flying from rome to paris to stay at paris for a few days before flying back home. (We are going in April) i was able to find this flight all with points so thats y we r opting for airfrance rather than United.

My questions: - is 3 hr 20 min enough time to make our connection? With or without checked luggage? - any experiences with luggage being lost with airfrance? Ik most people try to bring a carryon for europe but Im worried about the carry on weight limit - what’s the weather like in april?
