Changing Aquasoil

Aquarists.. I need all some good advice, I started my tank with a small gravel type substrate, and have since then bought aquasoil, which i couldn’t get at first due to my budget at the time that i started the tank. Now i’m wondering if i’ll be able add the fish immediately after the rescape and change to the aquasoil, without killing my fish.
