are Gauntlets bugged?

i usually clear dungeons or holy ruins with a hammer fighter. recently i got my hands on a strong dualblade/gauntlet barbarian. however every time i try to hit a machine in the dungeons my moves get interrupted. no matter what moves i try. left click/ left hold or all the different skills. the character always gets staggered. i also tried hitting different parts of the enemys body to no avail. anyone else also facing this problem? i dont want to use hammer on every single barbarian in dungeons
