Late game feels unexciting
So before I address my only real gripe with the game as of now, I'd like to state that The Bazaar has very much exceeded my expectations and I think Reynad and his team have done an outstanding job! Despite the existence of quite uninteractive and frustrating to play against builds (looking at you skyscraper, dam, perma freeze), I've been having an absolute blast playing and tinkering with various different builds.
Now, the weakest part of the game in my opinion lies in the later days once you have found your build. A lot of times this stage has felt quite uneventful and dull to me. You basically go from vendor to vendor hoping to find upgrades, buy and sell gumballs (which feels more tedious than impactful) and then pray you don't run into a Pyg oneshotting you. (I'm aware balance changes are underway)
Pivoting in this game seems highly situational even if you haven't picked up many skills early. I always get a bit sad when I get a cool item reward from one of the big monsters only to sell it because it doesn't fit my build and then having nothing to spend all the gained gold on.
I'm hoping they will find ways to make the late game more engaging. Maybe an event that gives you extra board space, something that makes pivoting more viable, special encounters, anything that shakes up this stage of the game a little bit.
Obviously we are still at the very beginning of closed beta and I'm I'm sure the game will only get better as more items and heroes are being added and I'm very excited to see what The Bazaar's future holds!
