Transfer from Android to Plex server

Hi guys - i'm a total noob to this, so i'm just looking for a really simple bit of help. I've just got my plex server running on my PC, but all my content is on my Android phone (videos and pictures). I've downloaded the android app, and i have the subscription paid to Plex. Now, how do i take the files from my phone and put them onto the Plex server, so i can access them on my TV? I feel like this should be simple, but i'm obviously missing something. Or, do i actually have to move the files to the PC first, then add to Plex?
