Abruzzi voice change

Oh my god after Abruzzi comes back from having his neck slashed in season one and is a born again Christian his voice/accent is all messed up. I cannot be the only person who is bothered by this can I? It sounds like he’s slipping between a normal English to like Eastern European accented English. Has anyone noticed this???
