Seven Deadly Sins speculation [CH1 SPOILERS]

We all know Project Eden’s Garden has massive references to The Bible and one the most popular references in other media are The Seven Deadly Sins. I speculate that each culprit’s motive might correlate with one Deadly Sin.

Also, interestingly enough, the killing game ends once there are only 2 contestants left and 7(deadly sins)*2(culprit+victim) equals 14, which is the exact number of people that need to perish. That would suggest 7 murder cases and 7 chapters, which doesn’t sound plausible. A fun fact if you will.

Envy

That is quite literally Eva Tsunaka. She got ostracised by the group, despises Wolfgang’s popularity and envies Diana’s likability. All that combined fuelled her paranoia that everyone hates and is going to target Eva.

Greed

Wenona is a billionaire and that money isn’t not achievable without substantial exploitation of other people. She also canonically dislikes Unions, go figure. I know, it’s a basic answer.

Pride

A controversial pick, but I think it fits Ingrid. Mind you we are talking about her family’s pride, not her own. The recent Imitation art suggests that there is a high amount of expectation put on Ingrid and that great responsibility on her shoulders might cause Ingrid to crack. She just needs a right motive.

Gluttony

I doubt P:EG will pull a Strawberry house on us, so instead I interpret Gluttony as Self-Indulgence. Cassidy and Kai self-indulge in attention and affection social media and the Internet provides to them, and the killing game is a famine to them.

Wrath

Anyone could fit the bill in a revenge murder case. But whoever played Eloise’s FTEs… ifykyk. Eloise appears timid and peaceful, but is surprisingly fierce. Just like a swan.

Sloth and Lust

Yeah, these 2 feel the most unlikely and clunky.

Sloth could represent a suicide or a murder cases where the victim cooperates with the culprit. In that case, perhaps Mark? Or Ulysses?

Lust has an even worse case. I severely doubt we’ll get a love story in a murder case, that’s just corny. Ik creators themselves partake in shipping, but will it really leak into the script? My biggest guess is that Toshiko’s matchmaking talent might play a role in the motive.

What do you think?
