Kickstarter Fulfilment using DTRPG

Hi all,

I am almost ready to move to the point of creating a kickstarter and trying to find backers for my book (exciting!) but I'm having a bit of confusion around Drivethrurpg's fulfillment options.

The only options seem to be:

1) Customer backs me but then has to go and buy the book and pay shipping themselves later (Yes, they're buying at cost, but still...)

or 2) I have to guess shipping costs and factor that into pledges and then ship all the copies out myself, paying for them.

What would seem to be to be a really good middle ground would be that I can charge $x which gets someone a print copy of the book, and they can go to DTRPG and just pay shipping when the book is ready. That way I'm not asking them to pay for the book as well, even though it's cost they're going to say "didn't I already do that in the kickstarter?"

Does anyone have experience with this? What did your backers think of it? Could someone give an example of how they worded it so it doesn't seem like asking the backers to pay for the book twice?
