So… Do you guys like the show or not?

Like I get criticism and wanting a series writers to do better, but the RWBY fandom is easily the most toxic fandom I’ve come across. And it’s not even between the fans, it’s all just people who bash on the show and the people who make it. If you really are so bothered and disappointed in the show, why watch it? If you didn’t like the show I get it, but I notice that the biggest critics just keep coming back and watching every new season as it’s released. These same people are the first ones to make post about the series shortcomings and how much of a failure it is. Idk, might just be me, but i definitely watch low budget web series with my expectations in line. Like I mean, no the script isn’t gonna be flawless, the animations gonna be janky, and there’s not gonna be a perfect direction for every plot point. We’re talking seasons that have less than a 4 hour runtime and the series is scrambling to find a direction in the limited amount of time while still trying to cater to the viewers(which let’s face it, will throw dirt on just about whatever is released). I feel like RWBY was never meant to be held to the standards that the audience clearly has for it. It was literally just a web series that gained popularity because of the talented Monty Oum(R.I.P.) but I feel like it’s been a little blown out of proportion what exactly people should expect from this series. Idk, just seems like there’s a disproportionate amount of negativity coming from this fandom and I can’t wrap my head around why?

And I’m asking, how do you justify such harsh criticism from such a clearly low budget project?
