Positives and negatives of being unafilliated/nondenom VS being a part of a denom?
For various reasons, this question is important to me.
I feel like the Reformed/Calvinist tradition has as fair share of both denominational and non denominational local churches and individual believers. With that, I had questions directed to two groups of people: those within nondenom church and those within a denominational church:
1) for those who have ever been a part of a nondenominational church (in leadership or laity), what are some advantages that come with nondenominational churches? What are some positive aspects of this? What are some difficulties that can arise?
2) for those who have ever been a part of a local church that is part of a denomination (in leadership or laity), what are some advantages that come with being in a denomination? What are some positive aspects of this? What are some difficulties that can arise?
