Can i get the infinite knife by doing this?

I'm in a Claire A run and I want the infinite combat knife in the next run, I have a Leon A save too, if I go to this save, shoot the remaining mr. raccoon (i forgot about the raccoon on ada gameplay), save on this point and return to Claire's gameplay i get the knife in the next run? does it count?
